I'd be prouder of a sister who was a prostitute on the Avenue than a brother who was an insurane agent. Ah, the art of picking your pocket through legislation. What a fucking (t)ripoff. North Kansas City is considering an ordinance that says ALL dogowners must have $100,000 liability insurance. I'm only jumping on the bandwagon because you know how I have love for dogs; being one myself.

I'd personally like to make it mandatory that all parents should have a $500,000 insurance policy for kids. They break windows. They break down fences. They shoot kids at schools. They throw shit at cars when people drive by. They loiter and discard trash everywhere; thereby lowering property values. Maybe its a good thing if everyone has $100,000 liability for dogs? I just think this would put pet ownership in the hands of the mostly wealthy. How about handicapped people? After all, the integrity and character of a great nation is measured by how we treat the less fortunate and disadvantaged classes of people. Many people (who are potential responsible dog owners) could afford a dog (or companion, as I like to call it) IF they were not disadvantaged by high insurance premiums.

This is NOT what our founding fathers had planned for our great nation. Maybe I'll move to Mexico. I am TOTALLY embarrassed to be an American. What a fucking sell-out our politicians are. We've created the very same government we claimed independence from.

They allegedly kicked a door in to keep warm. they were detained a short time later without the suspects trying to run the cops over like yesterday. 311 and Noise Ordinances

Even though I DO NOT believe it will help I've contacted 311 City Action and have made a formal complaint (READ: for 2nd or 3rd time) concerning the Indepepndence and Benton KFC and its lack of social responsibility towards the immediate residential area bordering its property. Quite simply, they refuse to observe ordinances and the city refuses to hold them accountable. The complaints are as follows:

(1) Deliveries during quiet time. (READ: Quiet time is the time protected by code for the rest of persons in the general vicinity). The deliveries are on Saturday a.m between 4-6am and Tuesday Mornings same time. Every week.

(2)Incredible Fucking Hissing Machine. (READ: Once weekly this machine hooks up to the side of the building and a big HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS screams out for like 15 minutes). I have no idea what this is although it wakes me up, usually on Wednesdays between 6-7 am.

(3) Drive thru speaker needs turned off during non-business hours. (READ: Every time a car drives thru KFC parking alot, approximately 20x during non-business hours the speaker blurts out "WELCOME TO KFC OUR HOURS ARE 10am-9pm" or whatever). It sounds like the SWAT team outside my house each time someone drives thru.

Thats all. Honestly, the calltaker said nothing would probably be done. I have a confirmation number and I plan to follow it thru. Basically, we have no times during evening hours after the business closes to have peaceful enjoyment. Never. At least 5 nights out of 7 we are totally at the mercy of KFC. Fuck KFC. Thats what I say.

We all agree KFC on Independence Avenue needs chicken deliveries. We had a problem last summer and the asshole was back yesterday morning around 5 a.m. An ordinance exists stating that deliveries to commercial establishments bordering residential neighborhoods cannot be made before 7am. I calmly explained that religious beliefs prevented me from choking the shit out of him. He played stupid about the ordinance and said he'll do something different next time. See, we can all get along. Now, I just need to corner the guy from Deffenbaugh who picks up trash at 4 a.m. twice a week at 528 Benton and the weekly hissing machine at KFC early a.m. I can at least have one day of rest weekly if what this driver tells me is true. Small victories. I still think it would be easier if we lived in a city where the ordinances were enforced by those responsible to do such. Instead, they spend time writing shitty letters to people about chipping paint. When's the last time your sleep was interrupted by a falling paint chip? Or a torn screen? What a fucking joke.

He even goes so far as to say "they wanted me to tell them I would provide more funds for more police. More funds for indigent health care. Mo money, mo money, mo money! Late as always with the News: The Northeast Mayoral Forum on Thursday evening was a huge success, considering we're accustomed to seeing 2 or 3 people show up for events around here. We probably had around 200-300 people although I didn't actually count. I know we had 11 mayoral hopefuls sitting at the front of the room. Mostly full of crap. Funkhouser seemed the most intelligent although Stan Glazer receives the Hip Critic Public Speaking Award. He spoke clearly, legibly, and used words most people can understand. I thoroughly enjoyed Katheryn Shields' "we'll just take houses from people and give them to CDC's for redevelopment" response to urban blight. I attempted to link to her site although it is currently not available.

Alvin "I'm totally comfortable with the process" Brooks reminds me of the perfect reason Kansas Citians should NEVER consider electing a current member of council for Mayor. He stops just short of saying downtown IS Kansas City; everytime he speaks. No great mystery surrounds what Alvin would do if he were mayor (READ: Continue downtown revitalization to the demise of the entire rest of the city).

A recent poster on TKC attributed some rude comments to the Hip and police were summoned (6-8) to my neighborhood looking for this "Jim" guy. After having realized they should be doing something else, PD accosted an african american male and tossed him into the van for transport while the subject was saying "I didn't do anything". Surely. Went to the neighborhood meeting last night. They discussed the "Urban Renewal Plan" and LISC stuff for Scarritt District via a translator (from binary code to simple english) from Planning and Zoning and some goofball looking dude from LISC (READ: what the hell was he there for?). Now I know how people feel when I talk endlessly about things nobody really cares about. This portion of the meeting obviously had nothing to do with me although I had a few questions to ask for clarification purposes. I'm still not certain they really know what blight is. It also sounds like this new TIF Aldi on the Paseo will sell more alcohol to the Northeast residents when they start pimpin' though.

Talked to the cops there. C-Star propoganda. They seemed nice but they had the "I feel your pain look" along with a "good luck". Sounds like Shoal Creek drained all the Divisions on this side of the River (no shit!). Gave a fairly accurate although sensored version of what really goes on here in the form of a neighborhood report. Put a jacket on a pair of juveniles for all the graffitti although quickly admitted there are probably others when questioned. It may satisfy the little old women and people who haven't left their houses in years. Those of us on the front lines (walking everyday around here) know better. The thefts are an indicator of deeper drug problems in the area by the way.

Witnessed another theft before the meeting tonight although when I told them to put the wood back, they did. Said they thought it was trash (READ; Brand new 2x4's). Found out where they drove to. Cops went by there. Big ass house. Probably full of all the items mined in recent copper thefts in Northeast Kansas City. Northeast corner of Gladstone and Thompson. Little white Toyota pickup (black topper shell) with North Carolina plates. Dumb and Dumber look- alikes. One male. One female. Went by there tonight and every light in the house was on. Looked like they were remodeling. Wierd people. I'll know for sure they're on meth when they board all the windows up because they scrapped the foil.

There was a very large crowd for a change although everyone wanted to make sure this plan wasn't raining on anyones parade and thats why they came. So, much emphasis was placed on property values and such as indicated by the questions from the Bed and Breakfast Groups of Northeast Klansas City. Old woman next to me kept nudging me with "whats section 8"? I still think more people would move here if they weren't bombarded by homeless people, robbed, solicited sex, or have their car stolen while it's warming up in the driveway. Never stood up and said it though. I'm really looking forward to this Thursday nights Northeast Mayoral Candidates Forum" at Melrose United Methodist Church on Windsor and Bales. Thank you Scarritt for bringing this to our area. I just hope people show up and not just throw rocks at their cars.

Northeast KC and "Urban Miners"

I am so sick of people stealing copper around here. Last night I was talking on the phone with a Midtown couple (very good people) who are trying to purchase a house in the Scarritt District of Northeast Kansas City. After having viewed my blogsite, the wife contacted me via email encouraging me to expand on the "good" things about Northeast Kansas City. After calm, thoughtful reflection induced by sedation, I was able to compile a list of what is good about this particular neighborhood. You have to look very hard although good things do exist around here. Not the point of this post though.

As the conversation turned to their recent visit the wife (on speaker phone) stated that somebody had broken into the house and stole numerous items such as an irreplacable chandelier, motor from sauna, water meter(?), blah blah blah. Anyway, this was after having visited the last time and the AC unit was ripped from its location, dismantled, destroyed, and carted off for scrap (apparently). In and of themselves, these items are worthless. In short, they did several thousands of dollars worth of damage to cart off at moderate estimates, maybe $100.00 worth of scrap metal. Thats not even what pisses me off.

During this conversation I received a second call. The neighbor called me (because I guess they are tired of being talked down to by cops around here) and told me to hurry outside. While still speaking with the Midtown couple I ran downstairs to find a pair of suspects (no race indicators) who were quickly loading the AC unit from the Hispanic church at Indy and Benton into the trunk of a white 80's model Chrysler New Yorker with gold trim package. There were actually 4 suspects, 2 of which jumped into car and sped off, 2 of which tore off in opposite directions. Unfortunately, because we have no forms of enforcement around here (unless it's PD harassing my girlfriend leaving with no front plate on her vehicle from my house), the vehicle had no clear or visible tag number. The plate was there but was not legible. These asswipes used a cordless reciprocating saw to cut the steel cage from around the unit and then cut the unit itself from the building. The sad part is that they will only enjoy the profits of $25- 30 split four ways.

Anyway, the blessing in all of this was that the woman I was speaking to called the Police as soon as I hung up. Police arrived quickly. The only person the Police were able to track was the subject who fled on foot southbound Benton Blvd. He was sitting on the porch near 9th and Benton (big white dilapitated structure with boarded windows) smoking something. White car sitting outside minus the AC unit. Apparently, he pissed the cops off although they were not able to pin anything on him. Thank you for your efforts East Patrol.

In ending: if these people continue to steal in the immediate neighborhood surrounding my house they WILL get caught. We catch people around here. Not always. Enjoy your freedom while you can. Also, pray to God the Police catch you next time instead of one of those sweaty mexicans next summer. They were pissed too. I couldn't quite understand what they were saying today over there, but it didn't sound good.

The Northeast News appropriately stated that "the Jackson County Legislature has until the end of this week to disapprove of the latest appointee to serve on the county’s COMBAT Commission". I have no current information regarding why this appointment was cancelled although if I had to guess it was either (1) a zealous former prosecutor/funeral parlor looking guy, (2) a pissed off Italian that ol' Johnny Boy JJ jitterbug wasn't appointed, or (3) appointment was made by Katheryn "I dont care if you indict me or not because I'm gonna be your mayor" Shields. KC: Codes Enforcement, et al

Code Enforcement Process:

"Code enforcement is an investment that pays off for a city and its citizens by helping to keep the city vital. The Neighborhood Preservation Division's (NPD) enforcement of the property maintenance code and the nuisance code helps to ensure that there is a minimum level standard required for maintaining properties in Kansas City, Mo. The division provides professional code enforcement services with the goal of improving and stabilizing neighborhoods, protecting property values and helping to promote a healthy, safe environment."

Complaints concerning possible code violations are turned in to NPD through three primary sources:
(1)Citizen complaints submitted to the Action Center (immediate neighbors, Neighborhood Association, or other assholes)
(2)Citizen complaints submitted directly to NPD (usually through Neighborhood Association or some other asshole)
(3)Code violations picked up in the field by the inspector (rarely)

The problem with this process is the discriminatory fashion in which the nuisance codes are applied. San Francisco had a similar process in which a codes inspector resigned after controversy surrounding a house that was target of Code Enforcement. Ethics violations are not the only problems facing a process like this. Santa Monica's City attorney maintains "a main principal with enforcement is that it has to be fair and even-handed," City Attorney Marsha Moutrie said. "When the issue is aesthetic it becomes harder for people to understand why you have to enforce the law for everyone, but it still has to be enforced fairly if it is going to be enforced at all, like any law." This is not the case in kansas City

In many cities they have adopted standards by which codes violations must be visible from the property of the complaining party. In other words, people would not be allowed to walk around someone elses neighborhood with a clipboard full of addresses they plan to email to their friend who works for Old Northeast, who in turn emails it to their friend who works in Codes enforcement, who dispatches somebody like Clinton out here in the Northeast looking like a gaunt prospector mumbling "well, if they can't afford to fix it up they'll have to sell it to somebody who will". Codes enforcement is a very important issue in Kansas City due to the declining housing stock although should not be the centerpiece of anyones campaign. Mark is inching his way slowly to the political suicide watchlist.

Lets talk about why people are being asked to leave drug treatment due to lack in funding while COMBAT holds on to a Bazillion dollar surplus. Lets talk about why people have to wait 30 minutes or more for an officer to arrive after 911 call, if they arrive at all. Lets talk about why Downtown continues to be the centerpiece of development, while totally ignoring the rest of the city (which is crumbling apart by the way). Lets talk about why the council approves Payday Loan and pawn businesses in our area when there's already 500 of them. Lets talk about why they clean our street up once a year for the annual bike race but rarely see them again until next year. Lets talk about why they have a bus system (strategically designed routes) which make it nearly impossible for Northeast residents to access certain areas of the city, or other distressed areas as well.

Lets talk about why candidates for council and mayor refuse to take a position which lends itself to:

(1) Forcing KCPD to do its job, maybe even putting the department under council control.
(2) Forcing Parks and Rec to do their job instead of sitting in their trucks all day at the concourse.
(3) Forcing Public Works to care for the streets.
(4)Making contractors receiving city contracts accountable for their work and the ones who fail the city are not offered contract renewal.
(5)Actually acting like they have a set of nuts and assuming the leadership roles you've been entrusted with.
(6)Encouraging every possible branch of local government to hit our streets and do the jobs they've been hired to do.

Thats all. I know I've totally raised the bar for our new mayor and council.

Mark Forsythe Prefers Fresca

After experiencing serious health problems I've decided to stop drinking a twelve pack of coke a day. I've started drinking more water and can't say I'm experiencing positive side-effects at this time. Pepsi's not much better although I found this banned commercial to be pretty funny. Currently, I am weighing the options between dying of diabetes, or a sure prison sentence if I don't resume drinking caffeine again. In other words, what the hell do they put in this stuff to make you feel like you're duct-taped, lying flat down in the bed of a pickup truck speeding through the winding hills, with bowling balls rolling around. I feel like shit. Tony at Tonys Kansas City has a less than appetizing picture of something ooozing out of pepsi when boiled. It looks like something straight out of someones ass.

LINC Expelled from Schools

Apparently, changes are on the way for before and after school programs in Kansas City. The District expelled LINC from school in lieu of a more affordable service although "parents won't notice anything except that we have certified teachers and it's more academically oriented," said District Superintendent Anthony Amato. In other words, LINC provided a non-certified service to our school districts before and after programs. Joe Amato was quick to point out "as far as I'm concerned, LINC is a valuable partner and will continue to be valuable partners," Amato commented. "Parents need a program in the morning, whether [run by] LINC or the district, because if they have to work they need somewhere to drop kids off so they can protect the family." LINC will be valuable partners elsewhere, Joe. By the way, LINC is one of the agencies absorbing extraordinary amounts of resources from the city which is mostly utilized to support the organization itself, rather than benefit the community.

Theres never a dull moment in my neighborhood. My neighbor calls me last night, "Hip, Hip"..."come outside, its the Police". I'm thinking, so, they're always out there nowadays, since all the blogging action. So I go outside anyway. The real plan was the neighbor wanted me to find out what was up. Thats what I do.

Appparently, a male (no racial indicators are given intentionally) suspect picked up a prostitute on eastbound Independence Avenue and turned North onto Benton Blvd. The Police were sitting in Rent-a-Center lot and bolt after the guy. The suspect pulls into the driveway across street (not his house) and claims he lives there. The prostitute ( appearing higher than hell) jumped out of the car while the male suspect claimed him and his wife were just arriving home from dinner to scream "Officer, I was only going to suck his dick for money" and started telling all. In the end, the male suspect went to jail and the prostitute went over near 7-11 to pick up another prospective sex partner for money.

NOTE: While all this was going down about 20 police cruisers were driving eastbound about 80mph down Independence Ave towards Indy and Jackson where they apparently had some more action. Haven't heard yet what.

COMBAT: 2006 Annual Report

COMmunity Backed Anti-Drug Tax program (COMBAT) 2006 Annual Report is a good read if you're interested in finding out part of the reason Kansas City is still a cesspool of illegal drug activity, crime, and general lawlessness.

According to COMBAT, COMBAT is:
"A sales tax-supported network of 80 community agencies that assists Law Enforcement in the war on drugs; provides treatment for non-violent offenders; and prevents youth experimentation with drugs, and prosecutes drug and drug related crimes. COMBAT divides the types of projects it funds in four major groupings: Prevention, Treatment, Law Enforcement, and Prosecution."

How well has it worked? It hasn't. COMBAT has a large (READ: shitloads of money) surplus and Kansas City has what it has, in spite of lower murder rate in Kansas City than 2005. The Commission is not totally void of a heartbeat because they maintain "the program strategy recognizes that an effective battle against drug abuse requires not only strict law enforcement and prosecution, but also prevention and treatment. COMBAT's law enforcement aim is to prosecute and incarcerate those who distribute and manufacture drugs or who have committed violent offenses because of their drug activity" while Kansas City Drug Enforcement Unit claims funding is not available for large purchases.

In other words, COMBAT's claim to success derives from large numbers of mere drug possession charges gathered by KCPD during routine stops in which the defendant pleads to some bullshit charge, admits personal powerlessness over his/her drug addiction, and receives a deferred sentence, while successfully jumping through the hoops of one of the 80+ community agencies (craftily designed agencies I might add!) who claim to "really" care although the transparency of the situation clearly indicates the 80 agencies are the real beneficiaries of these programs and not the community at all.

The tragedy of all this is outlined in the COMBAT organizational chart which clearly indicates
(1)The Jackson County Legislature, through its Anti-drug Committee, oversees and approves all COMBAT ordinances and resolutions.
(2)The County Executive appoints the COMBAT Commission, and
(3)The Prosecuting Attorney is the lead elected official and is responsible for most of the management of COMBAT.

In other words, the very same people who have mismanaged the majority of COMBAT funding (and all other funding for KC) are free to do the same in 2007 after playing a little game of musical chairs. I won't even go into questioning how a tax-supported network of 80 community agencies could possibly effectively abate the harsh realities of drug distribution/usage in a City while assisting a Police Department who are years from working together at a department level (Berkshire Study) or how all these community agencies receive overlapping funding to do a job they never plan to really start. I wasn't even going to mention all the gunfire in Northeast Kansas City last night again until a friend of mine received an email from someone else in the neighborhood that was CC to me. He said it best for the current state of Northeast KC:

Everyone knows by now I live in the "urban core" as politicians like to call it. Plans are being hashed out as we speak for Re-Development (READ: tear up houses, displace residents, and make you somehow feel as good as possible about it) of the Scarritt District which the Neighborhood Association will be talking about tomorrow night I've heard. I've been invited. A bunch of times actually. I've read reports that "crime is down" in one newspaper, "Kansas City has taken St. Louis' title for most violent city" yada yada fuckin' yada. Of this, I know you cant believe everything you hear. Unless of course, it's New Years Eve in the hood.

New Years Eve in the Hood is a trip (last night was my third). The Cubicle Gangsta has her own take on New Years in the Northeast. It started out I was planning on getting my running around done prior to the drunks being out, etc. Fat chance of that. People around here started partying last year and have not ceased. Many have never stopped partying for years. They drink where they want. They fight when they want. Police at Benton and St. John all night. Other neighborhoods......they have shootings, four people are hit, and its over with. Done. Not here. It's not always shootings either. Hookers out full force (one asked me at Fast Stop could she get a ride to the Motel for the night?), drug dealers slinging rock (one asked me at 7-11 was I straight?), and panhandlers asking for a dollar to get a bottle for New Years Eve(the only honest people out of the bunch to which I felt obligated to).

One thing for sure. Everyone has guns in this neighborhood and they proved it last night at midnight. Of course you could not prove it by violence stats, murders last night, or any other way. You'd just have to be there. At midnight shots rang out from every direction at Independence and Benton. People walk out their back door and shoot in the air for no apparent reason. I was listening to the scanner and heard reports of shots fired everywhere last night in Kansas City. Mostly in my neighborhood. I'm proud to say because it's illegal I did not participate. The Police would never admit it. Nobody would. I just keep thinking about all the fugitives in this area (very high percentages!) and how I'm sure they played some small part in this. Hopefully 2007 will be the year Northeast Kansas City (specifically Scarritt District) takes back their streets from assholes who like to fire random shots in the air for no apparent reason. When I approached the guy across the street today that I watched fire six shots from a revolver in his yard he said "they were firecrackers man". I said, Yeah...OK! And I'm fucking Vicente Fox dumbass.

I love the UFC. Saturday night was the UFC light heavyweight fight between Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell and Tito "Hunnington Beach Badboy" Ortiz on PPV. Tony quotes a bootleg corrupt newspaper saying Northeast Kansas City residents aren't voting. I say its because mostly uneducated people live in Northeast Kansas City. You failed to mention this. How do large numbers of uneducated people end up in one area of the city you ask? Segregation.

Because it is a subtler form of segregation and it is not just affecting blacks anymore this form of discrimination is tolerated. Its fair. Unaccredited schools in this area are given last choice of resources, or gifts, if you will (much like a "white Christmas"). Parents are proud in Northeast KC to send their kids to a substandard school system. Why? Because the parents went there too. That and because many of the people around here are illegally here from a country having no school system. Why bitch, ey? The equivalent of hand-me-downs from a Political standpoint. Substandard. Noise ordinances aren't enforced in these areas so people don't awaken "refreshed" around here. Even the sirens on the firetrucks are louder in the "hood" than other neighborhoods. Bus routes are strategically designed to make it inconvenient for people who live here to get out easily, if at all. People are trapped. Not trapped like, when my car gets fixed I'm leaving, trapped. I mean really trapped. Much like the mountain climbers who froze to death earlier this month only nobody's searching for the people in my neighborhood. Nobody cares.

Other areas (with City sponsored neighborhood plans) get adequate city services, police protection, and a host of other amenities which attract investors. Private investors + City dollars= Revitalization. Neighborhood- (city services + private investors)=blight. Thats what we have here. Blight. White people, black people, brown people and every other kind of person. It's easier to let this area dilapitate than it is for one person to come forward and speak the truth. The politicians around here would rather climb a tree to tell a lie, than stand on the ground to tell the truth. Quite simply, people don't vote around here because they are stupid. The sin is not in being stupid, but rather for a group of individuals entrusted with the safety and welfare of our city to allow people to remain that way. Shame on you fucking parasites.

A red Chevrolet Beretta rested on 2 rims and two tires near the intersection of Bellefontaine and Anderson Avenues in Northeast Kansas City Tuesday night around 10:30 pm. The car was chased by Police with an attempt to "stopstick" the vehicle at Independence and Monroe Avenues. The vehicle proceeded west on Independence turning south on Benton to E. 9th, east on E. 9th to Kennsington, north on Kennsington to St. John, west on St. John to the bottom of the hill below concourse park where it rested. Because I am not a real life "journalist" Police offered no explanation although it appeared they had very good reason to run. There were several (more than 10) police vehicles and officers were assisted by 690 with night vision above. (thats PD slang for the "ghetto bird"). It appeared to be drug related. Apparently, the Police were dispatched to the 4200 Block of Windsor on Christmas day in response to a tip from "granny" that her grandson (a wanted fugitive) was attending Christmas Dinner. After arriving and securing the scene (READ: attempted to put wheelchair bound man on the ground, verbally abused the snitchin' granny, and scared the shit out of kids) Officers reportedly arrested Jamie ? (no relation to Janet) for Parole or probation violation, theft of a motor vehicle, and "murderin' a black man" according to Granny. Bless her heart. I am taking Christmas Day off from blogging in celebration of the birth of Christ. I don't care that many people argue that Christ was not born on December 25. I have a friend who was born on February 29th and they celebrate his birthday on February 28th. Who cares? Christ was still the man!

In observation of Jeremiah 10 and mostly economic reasons I did not place a Christmas tree in the upright position. I did this partially because I could not afford a tree and the rest in honor of having retired from being a heathen. I hope if you are materialistic you receive everything you wanted. If you think it is sinful to indulge in the exchange of gifts I hope you refrained in such a way you were not a pain in the ass to those wishing to tear open some presents tomorrow morning. Kansas City: Meet Chris Huth. I just love watching these guys on A & E. They are truly the centerpiece for KCPD. They are such a team because their lives depend upon it. I see them a couple of times a week eating at "Rio Verde" (The Green River) located at 12th and Brooklyn. Very good Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai food by the way. They love their jobs and have even said the uniformed cops are "pussies" compared to the SWAT team. Chris did not personally say this and I would not think of mentioning who did. They did a sweep in the 3100 Block of Thompson Ave earlier this year netting .40 cal. Glock handgun, several rounds of ammo, a green leafy substance, several grams of crack, and some scales. Ok, I know I'm not the only person who hasn't done their Christmas Shopping yet. Last minute shopping can be annoying, uneventful, and costly. That is, if you rely heavily on the capitalistic approach to Christmas shopping. I can honestly say my Christmas shopping trends have not changed alot during the 40+ secular Christmas seasons I've endured. I pretty much buy people the same thing nearly every year. Nothing. I don't buy Mom a new car (because she's cool!) and my dad a pair of socks (because he's not!) or basically fund anything resembling a secular Christmas. The lines annoy me so I don't go to the mall, people door ding your vehicle to park as close to deep deals as possible, they throw credit cards around like it's actual cash (bitching about it all year long and struggling to make minimum payments), and generally running around like they're crazy to get people things they don't want.

You want to know how I know? My neighbor did it, I watched him, and he showed up with a very nice Chiefs coat at my door as my Christmas present (very expensive). This may not sound like a bad deal, except I'm not a Chiefs fan. So I now have a very nice Chiefs coat that I refuse to wear, a neighbor who I've sat with on numerous Sundays telling him the Chiefs suck and he's so drunk he cant remember the season, and he shows up with this as a Christmas present. I am commanded to love my neighbor. He will get a WWJD thong this year though. He could probably use a gift like this as much as I need a Chief's jacket. Dumbass.

I had a hunch Santa was not real every since the first time I caught my parents eating the cookies (how dare they!) we left out for Santa. I also wondered why Santa would leave things like new skateboards and bicycles for the neighbor kids although always left clothes for me that looked similar to the ones left for my brother the previous year. Santa was no hero in my neighborhood because he seemed very discriminatory in his gift-giving. I also wondered how the newspaper kid (who walked by everyday) ended up getting bitten by our German Sheperd for just stepping in the yard and Santa managed to slide down a chimney we never had, slide presents wrapped with paper similar to the stuff in my moms closet, and place these gifts under what was apparently the closest thing to a tree my mom could find. Santa managed to do this while our German Sheperd "Killer" (his real name!) was sleeping a few short feet away. I would have never accepted the gifts had I known Santa was an undocumented worker and was ruining the meaning of Christmas.

Local news has been reporting Secret Santa handing out money like it's crack rocks in Northeast Kansas City. The surprised crying lady above is one-half of what the Hip Critic refers to as the "Troy and Sherry Show". I met these people a couple of years ago and the effects of continuous drug usage in the "hood" has taken it's toll on this un-happily married duo. She forgot to mention she has "been robbed" of her Social Security check nearly every month since she started receiving them (at least she claims), regularly sells her methadone pills, and even falsely reported a rape in the 3100 block of Thompson Avenue to avoid having to confess to Troy she'd been cheating (for drugs) while he was locked up for a probation violation. Most recently, they "squatted" in an illegal immigrants house near Jackson and Anderson (after having him arrested), took over all his possessions (sold them!), and was robbed of drugs (not actual money) by a 15 year-old shotgun toting drugged out teen who previously partied at the address. I just report the news. There are far more needy people in Kansas City than these two. Trust me.

I see people all the time under bridges, in the parks, and around Cliff Drive in Kansas City who look like they could freeze very soon. Especially, in this weather. In Kansas City we call them homeless. Kansas City has many wonderful public service bulletins which instruct people who are outdoors to seek shelter (and some do!)when the weather becomes bearable only for furred and feathered creatures who have successfully adapted to the elements . Unfortunately, as humans, we have not successfully adapted to brave very cold weather and the folks in some states continue trying to rise above being human.

For the purposes of this post I am interested in finding out how many people the City of Kansas City search for when they wander off from a warm place in the winter voluntarily and are likely to freeze? Do we even look to see if they compiled a list of supplies clearly outlining they had a moment of clarity? Should it matter the homeless are not hikers and merely one of the growing number of unprotected poor classes of people in America who freeze yearly unnoticed? I would suspect a large number of people walk away from City Union Mission each winter day, never to return, and never to be searched for. I further wonder why 3 climbers (after a series of totally poor decisions ) in one area of the U.S. utilizes military helicopters, search and rescue teams from worldwide, and saturates the media with pleas for prayer while several homeless people stumble daily down Benton Blvd in Kansas City Missouri from a local version of a snowcave near Concourse Park unnoticed. FOX News reports fluctuate between calling off the search and continuing it. Dumbasses.

Currently, we are experiencing alot of difficulties in America. Obviously. Most of the things we encounter in the National media have something to do with "Bush discussing Iraq with State Dept. officials", "Obama being welcomed in New Hampshire", "Sexual predator on the loose in California", and other insignificant yip yappin' and jaw-jacked propoganda. These are all events I automatically migrate towards the Bush should of been discussing Iraq with his people a long time ago, Obama never, and it seems sexual predators are always on the loose in California mentality. After all, isn't Cali the hub for the Porn industry in America. Trust me folks, the end is near although most religious scholars are still undecided about a definite time frame.

The local media spends their time sharing useless information mixed in with an occasional reminder that things aren't so bright in Kansas City. Maybe even throw in a little tidbit concerning the impeachment of our current President. The thing which bothered me the most is how FOX4 Problem Solvers utilized 90 year-old Evelyn to dog improvement efforts along Indepepndence Avenue. Leave Evelyn alone. Somebody put FOX4 up to this because Evelyn would never make that sort of complaint. Now, the Pastor of Evelyn's church may do something like that. Besides, local contractors are having a hard time keeping on schedule because tools have been stolen, lack of planning on city's part, etc. Fox4 doesn't report stuff like that.

In other news, the Pastor at IBCC has reportedly called the Hip Critic a "busybody". I haven't even started on this Church in the neighborhood although have noticed they have fed the very same people each week for the better part of 3 years (without teaching them to feed themselves), give clothes to the needy (which many turn around and sell on the streets), have these very same individuals arrested who loiter (after creating dependency on church, not God, but Church), and who reportedly funded Jim Jones Mission in Guyana back in the day. I have attended this church in the past although was not impressed with their stewardship concerning money matters and a host of other matters. They don't need me anyway because they survive spending old rich peoples money that died a long time ago. I have a picture of one of their choir members drunk on the floor although won't even go there.

508 Benton is slowing down a bit because the "rollers", "50's", "Five-O" , "Po-Po" (slang for PD with sirens, etc) are around. I always wish they would utilize some of their undercovers instead of sitting right down at Rent-A-Center in a marked squad car or driving back and forth waiting for them to pull out. It's funny. The bad guy's send little kids or mothers with little kids to go down to the 7-11 and scope out the scene. Maybe buy them a pop or chips or pack of smokes. If the Police are sitting out there the bad guys stay inside. If/when the police leave the bad guys are free to roam about. If the Police stay situated for very long......these guys emerge from 508 Benton looking like a recent episode of "extreme makeover". You can hardly recognize them. I've even witnessed the bad guys under the facade of a muslim. In other words, a young gangbanger will dress like a muslim female and walk right out past whoever is sitting out front. Very crafty. You almost have to respect their innovative technology. This is surely disappointing to the legit members of the Muslim faith living there.

In other news, the activity late Friday night on the block was related to a male subject who beat crap out of his wife and was arrested next door. He was released Sat. a.m and returned to finish the job. The building owner is very responsive to the needs of his tenants/community and is currently working towards removal of tenant although is sympathetic to the battered spouse as well. Very good job on the part of KCPD, witnesses to the crime who came forward giving credible witness statements, and the property owner. This is how areas are cleaned up. The male subject is still on the run although he will likely be detained if he returns. It takes the fun out of beating your wife when the Police show up.

500 block Gladstone Blvd was the site of some Police activity on Saturday also. Police were dispatched and arrested a couple of people in regards to a neighbors complaint of smelling marijuana smoke. Right on. In spite of the fact many people would like to see mary allowed on campus, she is banned from properties within most areas of most cities in most states except for medicinal companionship. In other words she's illegal. If you're stupid enough to allow your neighbors to smell it you should forget about it.

BENTON AND POLICE ACTIVITY

It's a little after midnight in Northeast Kansas City on Benton Blvd (500 Block) and KCPD has loaded someone into the white van in handcuffs. Not sure what happened although as a diehard East Patrol critic I must say it's nice to see them.

Down the street they have apparently found a dead mexican earlier today (2 months in United States) in a house near 12th and Benton. He was housesitting while relatives were on vacation or something. To sum it up we have:

(1) Dead mexican (here two months in US housesitting)
(2)Relatives of dead mexican on vacation
(3)No suspects
(4)Beehive of activity according to neighbors in last couple of days.
(5)Initially dispatched to house on welfare check of housesitter, or dead mexican, whichever you prefer.

Also, I am sitting here at 12:38 am and listening to the Police Scanner and hear an apparently older officer instructing a seemingly rookie sounding officer to sit back at Armour and Paseo in the dark and start stopping folks for no front plate. The elder officer says "yeah, we always get into some good stuff through that...car check, drugs, maybe outstanding warrant......tow the car and arrest suspect. Start over again". Right on....good work boys. Another officer is now complaining that "there is no reason to run only 2-3 officers to a sector...this is not Northland or Shoal Creek!" he stated. Another Officer said "he now is considering days because of this shift although the day officers are lazy and run around doing nothing but running accident after accident after accident". Anyway, I'm going to bed. Later.

I was minding my own business the best I could last week in my 3rd Floor Penthouse Suite aka HipCritic Central when I heard crazy Daisy (dog across street) barking her ass off. I went to investigate and found Daisy's owner escorting a startled wannabe intruder from the rear of his neighbors house (a house that was burgurlarized recently)slightly less than at gunpoint. The suspected intruder was then questioned by the Hip Critic, since these guys around here seem scared (or partially comatose, I don't know which?) sometimes to even say anything to someone who is clearly cleaning out someones house, garage, car, etc. He did manage to have him cornered where I could take over.

The interview went fairly smoothly as follows:

Me: What the fuck are you trying to break into my neighbors back door with a credit card for.

Him: I was trying to get into my friends house. (pulls map from pocket shaking like a little bitch although still trying to be calm).

Me:I guess you understand now you had the wrong house right, and who the fuck drew this little map for ya? (staring him straight into eyes)

Him: Timmy (shaking and pulling a card from his parole officer out of wallet). Its not what you think. I'm at the honors center and was supposed to meet Timmy at his house. (lying: because Timmy is supposed to be at Honors center too, come to find out).

Me: To save yourself a whole lot of trouble I need you to get Timmy over here.

Him: Bet, cuz I need no trouble. (calling Timmy as fast as possible).

Me: Settle down, you're alright. Get Timmy over here and you can leave.

Him: (on phone) Timmy, you need to pick me up around corner. Timmy pulls in before he could hang up.

Timmy pulls in with another female who recently rented an apartment from a friend on Gladstone (passed screening)and she was on shady watch anyway. I said "this doesn't look good for you girl". They drove off because they felt comfortable it was cool and I felt comfortable letting them think that, now that I know where they're operating out of. They had several of them guys from Honors Center who possibly absconded and were in the area staying on Gladstone. The long and the short of it is this. That night two of them were witnessed stealing some expensive wheels from the girls apartment complex, someone witnessed them take them into apartment of girl, and the Police arrived the next day and chased these fuckers on foot across Bellefontaine, down grassy, slippery incline nearly to Chestnut and pounced on them. They brought them back and arrested them. The wheels were returned to owner eventually and no charges filed, the lady was encouraged to leave prior to an aggressive eviction process, and the boys from the Honors Center were returned to Prison quickly for Parole Violations. Their names were ? and Timmy. Thank you KCPD, thank you to those who told what they witnessed to Police, and thank you to the guy who had the map who was stupid enough to tell me who Timmy was. Don't drop yer soap Boys and dont come back here because you're not welcome.

I said all of this to ask you a few questions: How do you end up with a cellphone and credit card right out of prison? Who watches these fools during their daily treks wherever they may decide to end up? And does this happen alot?

INFESTED NEKC PROPERTIES

We (Read: very few people) are sincerely trying to clean up our area without the help of the city for the most part, no help from certain property owners, and even less interest from the "fatcats" who run the section 8 properties in the "hood". This is a serious problem. We are highlighting 508 Benton Blvd as our featured property today. In the absence of a Police Department that really cares and several tenants of this otherwise decent property, this Section 8 facility is the hub for illegal drug activity on the block. If you want any more info than this, go watch it tonight, tomorrow night, or any other night for that matter.

A sign clearly states out front "no loitering, no drugs, no guns, no prostitution, and so on". Who is supposedly enforcing this? Nobody. This property needs some attention from the Missouri Housing Development Corp. (good luck) or it's designated property managers (possibly tied for 1st place with MHDC for not giving a shit) soon. Traffic comes and goes all night long, people pull up and honk all night long, subwoofers blasting, and little gangbangers who run between 508 Benton Blvd and the Avenue all night long....EVERY NIGHT. On one particular instance three black males ran from the building and ran up the street jumping from car to car (denting hoods, etc.), they've broken mirrors off of peoples cars parked on street, and they throw beer bottles in the street. Quite simply, they want to intimidate people and it works for the most part.

They (being certain tenants, visitors of tenants, etc) walk openly up to the building holding a 40 oz. in one hand and smoking a blunt with the other. Which apartment? I dunno, I don't hang around there. You should though, IF you're the manager. I'm just one of the many people affected by the people who do hang out there, live there, or just plain "squat" there. One of the parents told me to "go fuck myself" when I asked them to stop their unattended children from running up to my yard and throwing rocks at my dogs. I'm pissed and rightly so. My first encounter with this particular building (almost 3 years ago) was when I lived right next door and I was awakened every night by traffic, forwarded info to Police for more than a year, talked with the Kathy lady who used to be in charge, and finally cheered when the cops pulled two murderers of a 16 year old boy (who was shot 20+ times with assault rifle) out of one of the several apartments which were raided at the same time. They clean it out for awhile and ignore it to the point it returns to its usual state.

I hope someone doesn't have to die before they do something about the current situation there. It's pathetic. There should be a law against allowing people to collect government funding and continue to operate their properties in this fashion. They allegedly have numerous other nuisance properties as well although indicated at one time they were a part of Kansas City Crime Free Multi Housing. Boy, what a terrible poster child for a seemingly useless program. Maybe Alonzo Washington could talk with these guys? I sure hope someone does soon. They refuse to listen to a "cracker" although do manage to have God implanting one thought with clarity in their mind; lets not mess with this guy, he seems pretty serious. Too bad the people who really could make a difference refuse to be. They've let us all down.

I was really bored last night and decided to watch the Jackson County Legislatures last session of the year (12/4/06) and ended up watching entirely too much. In spite of my propensity to ask way too many questions it was quite the event. In the absence of any other reason for watching, it provides a framework by which you can understand the collapse of our city piece by piece, as we continue to provide funding for a mostly bankrupt group of unrealistic idealists.

I watched the Finance and Audit committee, Health and Justice Committee, Anti-Drug Committee, and a host of other hilariously uneventful committees squeeze as much money as possible out of the County in the least amount of time. They work very well together, almost as if they rehearsed it privately prior to actual filming. Nobody had many questions or was pissed at the end...except for me, of course. Am I the only person asking questions about spending around here? Maybe it's because I have no money and watch every penny I spend because I have no committee to petition when this entity goes broke.

I mostly honed in on the Anti-Drug Committe because they seemed to take up the most amount of time and without a doubt, the most amount of financial resources. If money could solve drug problems and the peripheral trash it generates in Kansas City we would have no problems. We spend TONS (READ: hella) money on Anti-Drug Programs in the form of DART grants, Victim Services, Gun Violence money, Blue Springs Drug Abatement Program, Incarcerated Parents Program, Chance for Change Program, Della Lamb Money, Childrens Mercy "crack babies program"($93,000 matching funds, although originally started at $50,000 although because of inflation it has requested more without voting on it and receives it every year) money, Genesis School Grant, Drug Court monies, Truancy Project, and what I'll call faith-based Reverend Williams Money for Hickman Mills School District. All of these committees gave a preview of what was to come in the actual legislative session, which I'll tackle next.

On the Legislative session: These fuckers, no questions asked, granted every penny asked for without so much as a "if we've been spending hella money on this program without the realization of benefits to the community why should we continue to pump money into a dead fucking horse?" response. The bottom line is this. Taxpayers are being duped. Millions of dollars are being spent for programs (with big salaries) being pimped to taxpaying citizens as the next "fix" for our communities, when in actuality, the only persons profitting from these programs are the privileged individuals who happen to be aligned with the right committe who will never question the big salaries, let alone whether they will insure funding is used for appropriate projects reaping actual (not to be confused with hypothetical) benefits. As for the Reverend Wiliams Fund: How does a local pastor receive money to preach in one "distressed area" school while failing to address the others? This is not an attack on Christianity, but rather, the motivation of Jackson County to once again convene without having addressed a single fucking issue concerning whats moral and right for Kansas City.

The remainder of the meeting was mostly dedicated to bidding fat-ass, pimply faced Katheryn (looking 90 years old) Shields a fond farewell, introducing Mike (landshark turned executive) Sanders as County Executive (and the person in charge of appointing the new County Attorney), and stringing up Stringfield for suing the rest of the Klan. One more question......how the fuck does Sanders weasel his way into being the person in charge of appointing the new county attorney? What a piece of crap Sanders is. Only in Klansas City. Oh yes, and the whole meeting seemed to be focussed on speaking in terms unrecognizable by those they serve and to push things through without reflection by anyone, nor a remark from the crowd.

I've overheard local gangbangers (more than two weeks ago) in Northeast Kansas City claim that they were attemtping to break last years homicide rate while Petey maintains he needs no nuts to hump the rottweiler, or to chase these little gangbangers for that matter. Somebody has to do it Petey says. Petey says he mostly sees Animal Control around here and hardly ever a cop. He's pissed too.

KCPD BERKSHIRE STUDY 2006

KCPD are highly trained police professionals who religiously abandon protocol with alarming regularity. For the purposes of this argument, we are talking about most of the Kansas City Police Department, most other departments, and overzealous Central Patrol dispatchers chiming in anonymously and unintelligibly by way of local blogsite addressing Roeland Park officer with a trigger happy finger are a fraction of the dumbasses who protect them. For purposes of this argument, I will utilize any method available to get my point across. Because we are in Kansas City, I will mostly utilize information concerning this department. Besides, they are the easiest to tackle when it comes to failure to follow procedure. It's a known fact (after spending $250,000 for the Berkshire Study) that Kansas City is several years from having an excellent Police Department. I would even question Berkshires qualification of KCPD as a "good" department. I think they were just being kind. Read the Berkshire Study at KCPD website under KCPD efficiency study. Believe it or not, some cities (Dallas) have experienced the same problems we have and found that eliminating many of the officers and the Chief was necessary for continued public safety and necessary Police protection. I would never dream of thinking KCPD is the answer to any of our problems in it's current condition. Seriously!

HILLARY CLINTON IN 2008?

Hillary Clinton has finally announced she will run for President. Like that surprises anyone. I have many reasons for not wanting her as president (none of which include the fact that she's a democrat) although I do not consider her a real threat. After all, she was never found guilty of anything (because the witnesses and key players kept showing up dead), her husband was impeached, she has no real credentials beyond riding the coattails of a corrupt former impeached president, and she thinks she's qualified. The dumbasses in her party knows she's not qualified. The scary part is the fact that she's using Bush's poor presidential showing as a reason to elect someone even less qualified than all who've passed before her. A friend sent me a video which explains her chances better than I ever could. I just have a hard time trying to picture an impeached ex-president as the "First Lady".

I am launching my new "Famous Minorities" section by highlighting the career of probably one of the most recent and emulated in Kansas City black icons in African-American history to date. Tookie Williams . I am highlighting Tookie in the aftermath of a verbal escapade aimed towards one particular current minority leader wanna-be in Kansas City who seems to get an enormous amount of free press without necessarily calling the black community to task for anything. That is the extent of Alonzo's free press on this blogsite for the moment anyway because Alonzo is not the point in this post. We are talking here about famous minorities who are being emulated in Kansas City by a large portion of the african american population. Alonzo is neither famous, nor being emulated, for that matter even being listened to by anyone anymore because he always slaps the race card down first and it's kind of like watching an old George Formean fight where it's been ran to death and we know the outcome because we've been there and done that. Anyway.

Last night I was surfing through the cable channels and a "Girls Gone Wild" infomercial was airing during commercial break on BET or one of the minority stations in which they were airing a special on Stanley "Tookie" Williams. In my comment to the big "A" on local blogsite I sent an invitation to him to utilize his position in the community to inspire young blacks to abandon cultural practices continuously placing young brothers in the negative spotlight. So, I was watching this special (even though the big "A" is boycotting BET) and recognized almost instantly that Tookie seemed to be inspired to do absolutely nothing right in his life by anyone near him although this special indicated all these former Crip gang members blamed society for the way they turned out. What a crock of shiite! These guys (after coming from an impoverished background and upbringing) decided to utilize any means possible to exploit their communities, enslave or encourage young brothers to continue in a gang lifestyle, and all so he could fuel an insatiable desire to be "the man", whatever that means. He even had a brief stint at show business on the "Gong Show" dancing and flexing his muscles (kind of like the big "A" does in Kansas City) with a couple "ho's" by his side. In short, Tookie Williams was not interested in aiding the black man to become "all that you can be" and neither is the big "A" in Kansas City.

So Tookie, as everyone called him, lead a double sort of life where he fluctuated between the leader of the "Crips" and working at a disadvantaged youth home in which he inspired many young blacks to join his gang although apparently never did so while at work. These youth homes were filling up with young gangmembers who reportedly listened real well to Tookie. It's probably because he killed the ones who didn't. Not actually at work, but rather, in his spare time. Those close to him indicated he was smoking sherm and this ate up his brain as time went on. I don't know, I just report what I watched. Tookie and his followers would sometimes stomp people to the ground, intimidate them, rob them, and basically act like subhumans and nobody in the black community seemed to step forward to put a halt to this in the absence of police protection, city services, etc. in South Central L.A. during 70's and early 80's.

In my opinion, much of Kansas City's minority community has followed in the footsteps of Tookie, and much like Tookie, they lack the necessary support and leadership in the community (not to mention lack of police protection, city services, etc) to rise above this. The most these young brothers could hope for is to kill or be killed, at the hands of another young brother, and to do so in the absence of anyone who really gives a shit (Police, city, black community, etc). Lets face it, a few women marching to "Stop the Killing" and an occasional self-seeking big "A" is not working. Please minority leaders, don't just vote for Cleaver and think this is the answer because he is now in Washington and cares nothing about anything in Kansas City beyond the few pet projects he jammed through, which are mostly currently failing. If you'd like to rise above these issues a good place to start would be for someone in the black community to step forward and offer something besides "whitey does it to us". Thats an old played out song that nearly everyone is tired of hearing. Please.....do something, young brothers are already bragging they are trying to break last years homicide record to maintain "killa city" status. If Rosa Parks would have known what was in store she would have stood her ass back up. At this point, in Kansas City, young brothers are doing it to themselves and taking the entire black community with them. Somebody has to say it. The best plan the city can offer is to tear out sections of the city (driving gang activity elsewhere) while slamming projects down the throats of taxpayers meant to eradicate blight.

HIP CRITIC FOR MAYOR 2007

Ha ha...just kidding. I do have 618 signatures for at-large council member though. The 5 year resident requirement disqualifies me for mayoral candidate. Kansas City is ripe for change. I've always said I did not have the desire to be a politician although I am more than qualified. We'll see what happens. My checklist indicates:

(1)resident of city for more than 2 years.
(2)Paid city and county taxes for 2 years preceding election.
(3)age 25 or older.
(4)Qualified voter of city
(5)Have not been convicted, nor plead guilty to felony (see #4)
(6)All 618 signatures are of qualified voters as well.

I will file my intent with election board after January 1, 2007. Wish me luck.

Apparently, some Somolians have moved into the area known as Pendleton Heights and live in NortheastView Apartments on Wabash or corrupt the surrounding area. Northeast View Apartments also have a property at 508 Benton Blvd in lovely Scary-Renta District. They have a crew that lives there now that just blankets this area with anything you don't want around. I find it surprising KCPD Drug Enforcement even has time (guns for drugs trade) for this although because you have a bunch of fat rich bitches over there who suck the jizm of a local cop to, at the very minimum, receive treatment far superior to say, Scary-Renta District it's a possibility. I will say that Section 8 plays a large role in what transpires there (illegal drug activity, fraud, assaults, murders, and more). Good luck, we have been dealing with 508 Benton for over 2 years and they still keep going. Anyway, not the point.

The point is that after researching Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Association website I noticed the Hip Critic News Team (partially)received some free press. After several months of trying to track down the HIP CRITIC, for purposes of harrassment I'm sure, they have publically discussed our fearless leader (full name and location) at Board Meetings and has opened the Critic's world up to possible physical harm, further harassment, and additional emotional distress. It's ok by him. He says the fat bitches (also known as Michael Bushnell and Co.) have more to hide than he does and has set out on a path (since he can't afford a U-Haul to move) to really heat things up around here. Ready? Here it goes.

First off, you rich ass punks just stop short of calling all these Somolians niggers at most of your meetings and you cant hide the fact that you want no blacks in your neighborhood. The church at Wabash and Independence has mostly become blacks and several members (with big bucks and trusts set up for church) have abandoned the Church because it now has a Black Pastor and black attendees. These very wealthy individuals no longer support this church through generous donations which hitherto funded a great deal of upgrades.

Secondly, if you have a problem with all the illegal aliens (as indicated in monthly meetings and published minutes) there are other ways to get them to leave rather than intimidation through your local cop. For instance, Pendleton Heights very own "McGruff" Bobbie Baker Hughes could abandon Don Bosco since they are the ones largely responsible for all these illegals anyway and a host of other less than taseful delicacies they provide for our neighborhood. A day doesn't go by where several illegal families are given services from Don Bosco in which allows them to stay in Northeast Kansas City. In other words; rent vouchers, food, education, daycare, etc are all provided by Don Bosco. If this wasn't so, you would see these folks migrate back to their original location. You could also rub elbows with Bushnell and get him to quit catering to the hispanics through his Bi-lingual Periodico.

Thirdly, if you want a gated community and pristine lots which nobody drives through, visits, stands around, etc you could always move to some pricey condo near the Plaza where you would only have to look out the windows at birds and clouds (thats where your heads are at anyway, when there not in your asses); possibly an occasional Navy Blue Angel during airshow. You could also move to JoCo where ya' all would fit right in. Seriously. You could talk people into just about anything over there. Take the fucking slimeball Chiefs with you and let them suck up some of JoCo's welfare of the corporate variety.

Fourthly, why does it bother you so much that a few black folks leave the local (Somali) store and throw a few wrappers on the ground? Pick them up. You don't have to try to shut their business down, intimidate them with your local cop, or look at them funny. For shallow folks, you dig very deeply in attempts to remove those around you that you feel threatened in some small way by. If I were the Somali's I would hook you up with some tainted Goats meat for your next meeting and if I were you people I would eat it. Besides, Michael Bushnell throws the majority of the trash around this end of town. It looks far worse than any wrappers or shipping slips. Why do you make no mention of the trash Michael Bushnell throws around (i.e. Northeast News) and leaves for weeks at a time until each block individually removes it themselves? Probbaly because he helps you to disseminate your agenda through his assclown press.

Fifthly, the Fall Festival was far from a success from a neighborhood perspective. As you already know the fucking place was trashed and will probably NEVER (get it, NEVER) be allowed in it's current location. You can spam all the complaints you want to whomever you can think of. I am fairly confident the Fall Festival will be in another location. I will not even go into the "Green" theme and how much money someone made off this event by acting as if they really cared about the environment, talked a few people into wearing blue "Recycle" shirts, and received a check for caring about our community so much. You all are a fraud.

Lastly, somebody sure is making a killing off of scrap metal and stolen air conditioners around here. Maybe McGruff could track it down since she's deeply embedded in the buying and selling of precious metals and for profits sake dabbles in the recyclers world.

It's been awhile since I've written anything to anyone, about anyone, for anyone; and I feel better as a result of this. I've been on vacation. Let me just bring you up to speed. Kansas City, Missouri is still one of the nastiest places to live in the known universe; whether you're solo or just recently snuck across the border with your entire family tree in search of what most hispanics have come to refer to as the "American Dream".

If this is the "American Dream"; for thousands of illegal hispanics to daily risk their lives crossing the border to drain our social welfare systems, setting up money laundering schemes disguised as a Taco Mobile or Automobile service centers, overcrowding our schools, failing to properly license vehicles, littering our streets with garbage and loudass tasteless circus sounding music, ultimately defrauding anyone and everyone in their way, then it surely must be the "American Nightmare" for the citizens of the United States who subsidize this. There is no other way to put it: ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION (hundreds or thousands daily to Kansas City alone) is not a positive source of inspiration for everyone, nor is it my greatest concern today.

My concern today is Northeast Kansas City's very own local piece of crap newspaper whose publisher is also the fat bitch in charge of the Neighborhood Association. He has severely twisted ideas of reality and continues to print CRAZY shit. I mean crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy, fucking shit. Hopefully, he will use his brain and figure out he is not serving (1) The readers of the Northeast News, (2) Scarritt-Rennasaince Neighborhood , or (3) anyone else by being (a)
Publisher of Northeast News, while simultaneously being (b)President of Scarritt-Rennasaince Neighborhood Association. He is serving his own interests and he knows it. So, here goes my appeal.

Please Mr. Bushnell.........resign from the Neighborhood Association or else you will be forced to. I am currently gathering signatures to submit to the Neighborhood Association meeting next month demanding your resignation. Attendance at these meetings do not continue to grow because people do not feel adequately represented by the President of the the Neighborhood Association who just happens to publish his own newspaper too. Your bias is becoming unbearable and inappropriate. I am referring to your latest November 8, 2006 "Good Things in The Northeast" picture in which they showed a building being torn down at Independence and Benton Blvd. By the way, it is never a good thing to tear down a building without the owners knowledge. The owner of the building lives in San Francisco and had no prior knowledge of demolition of his property. As a person, you seem nice enough. As a businessman, you are a piece of crap. We can live with you and your incessant littering, to make news possible in the area, although your loose associations (indicated by your local links option on website)
bear resemblance to an "oldschool" organized criminal enterprise, although much less organized and easily spotted. By the way, do you even know anyone who is NOT associated with some fucking criminally ran although legally protected 501(c)3 organization currently trying to rape the asses of Northeast Kansas City Residents through economic development?

It is not appropriate that your professional agenda lends itself to believing its ok to tear down buildings (and push this agenda through your newspaper) while aggressively pursuing nuisance code violations and a host of other crafty ways to steal personal property from individuals through "eminent domain" and pass these properties on to ONE, as President of the Neighborhood Association. Also, why would Old Northeast pursue code violations against Colonial Village as indicated in Northeast News? This seems rather improper. In other words this is wrong. Did I say, this is wrong?If you will not step down for the neighborhood's sake then you will be forced. It will take alot longer, but then you risk making yourself look like a bigger asshole than you have already. You have a handful of friends (less than 20) at the monthly meetings while I have approached literally HUNDREDS of people (people who actually live here, own properties, and businesses) who are ready to laugh you and your privileged friends out of the neighborhood. You are aware that people actually live here who could give shit less about you, your newspaper, or your friends?

WHAT SHOULD JOHNNY DO?

Let me give you some background on Johnny. Johnny used to be a very mean bastard and didn't care what people thought of him. He cares even less now that he's not doing anything wrong, but thats not the point.

The point is this: Johnny called today and was in a frenzy. He recently (2 or so years?) moved to a city in Utah and immediately found himself in trouble. Well, not really trouble, just being harassed after being overly critical of his newfound hometown. When I say harassed, it seems Johnny has been really harassed. It seems that local officials in his hometown (pop.900 or something) are really tight and grease each others palms, kinda like they would in a larger city, although on a much smaller scale. Hell, I dunno, I just feel what Johnny's saying because I realize that shit goes on, but what do you do? It's all part of being a sheeple in the U.S. anymore. I told Johnny to just keep telling the truth even if it means being harassed by Police, etc.

He said, no Hip (he calls me Hip and Johnny knows Hip), you don't understand. It's the Police. It seems after having a few disagreements with the petty bullshit theft rings in this small town and a few dope dealers and things (he actually turned people in and thats not Johnny's style) they all organized against him and called his local Police Department and filed false reports (drug activity, etc) of Johnny being back to his same old games. I guess he pissed a few City Council folks off too. He would ask them questions they had no answers for I guess? He thinks they may have sent the Police. You see, Johnny fled from authorities in Colorado (upon good legal advice) while being on probation. He says there wasn't shit they could do because it was some misdemeanor stuff and he paid his "dues" by ways of restitution, so no real indictable offense occurred. Johnny said, I paid my shit man. Fortunately, for Johnny anyway, he has good counsel.

Anyway, the Police evidently stormed his doors, searched his whole house, and found absolutely nothing. His attorney says he has a great case (probably millions!). The real problem lies in the fact that he's a relatively new Christian and his Pastor says he should forgive the locals for they are blindly following what they "feel" to be right, in the absence of compelling truth. Thats a very inciteful pastor, although an even better attorney.

EMINENT DOMAIN AND FAT CHICKS!

Condemnation is one process by which Government excercises its powers of eminent domain to transfer ownership of private property to itself. Back in the day, cases of condemnation were utilized only in instances where structures were grossly dilapitated and unfit for human habitation. In some Northeast Kansas City cases no existing legal precedent supports the taking of personal property for any reason. In these cases the property owner may challenge governments right to seize the property based on: (1) The taking of property is not for an "honest" public use and/or (2) Government has not followed "strict" procedural law and/or (3) Condemnation is not "solidly" grounded in legislation, thereby certainly appealable. In no cases should the legally grounded meaning of "public use" be misconstrued.

Nowadays, a much trendier style of coerced forfeiture exists where the inherent power of eminent domain is excercised in cases where third party interests are disguised as honest "public uses". Some governments appear inclined to exercise eminent domain for the benefit of developers or commercial interests, on the basis that anything that increases the value of a given tract of land is a sufficient public use. More suitable and legally supported cases of eminent domain survive in the building of military bases or public utilities.

Eminent domain abuse is not uncommon and there are citizens fighting eminent domain abuse. Quite simply, the law of eminent domain arose from the experience that some property owners are unwilling to negotiate a reasonable sale price, and such unreasonableness should not provide a basis to extort an above-market price or to prevent the completion of a public project. To advance these goals in Northeast Kansas City, strategically initiated Ordinances and Codes are passed by almost any means necessary and enforced in a discriminatory and highly controversial fashion. In very rare instances (the often abused and highly controversial TIFS!) can THIS form of eminent domain withstand a zealous legal challenge. We'll talk about TIFS tomorrow.

I called the local newspaper today knowing full well what to expect concerning the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of newspapers they throw around the neighborhood and they are left for absolutely nobody. I mean, they throw some of them in front of empty, vacant dwellings. they get kicked down the street, thrown around, and blow all over the damn place.The lady assured me on the phone that if i didn't want one delivered to my house they would stop. The longer I tried to explain why the reponsible thing to do would be to pick this mess up it became clearly apparent they just don't get it.

Lets face it, the Publisher at the news is also the fearless leader of the neighborhood association,
active in nearly every imagineable form of screwing the people of Northeast Kansas City
(not literally, well maybe!), pimps ideas in his "free" press praising the works of local 501(c)3 organizations receiving grants for cleaning the environment, organizes volunteers for cleanup days, and continues to litter our streets every week with his crappy newspaper. If you cannot write articles which actually address community issues, at least you could pick the shit up you throw all over the damn place every week.

I do offer solutions. I will get a group of people together and we will pick them up, but don't bitch about the invoice you receive in the mail from the Hipster for the cost. And don't bitch when I walk in your office and drop them on the floor, either. Maybe I'll just pile them up nicely in front of your door? You could offer incentives to your carriers which may change their minds about delivery procedures. It could go something like this: Hey assholes, try and get the paper near a persons house. Nobody wants to read the shit anyway, but at least the Hip Critic will leave me alone about it. If I have too, I'll open a can of "eminent domain" on his ass. The "public good" being pursued: less trash in the neighborhoods. We could turn your newspaper business into a homeless shelter for all these fucking street people.

Kansas City Star reporter Greg Reeves actually encourages someone in his Blog to look at crime statistics before moving to Kansas City. I will say, according to statistics Kansas City is not doing very well, in spite of news articles claiming the contrary.

According to recent stats, you are nearly 15X likely to be a victim of violent crime, 50x more likely to be murdered, 10x more likely to be raped, 30x more likely to be robbed, 10x more likely to be assaulted, 20x more likely to be burglarized, 80x more likely a victim of larceny theft, and 15x more likely to have your vehicle stolen in Kansas City than in Overland Park, Kansas. Oh yes, and Kansas City is only 3x the population of Overland Park.

One local newspaper reports there are quiet ways to report drug houses, while making no mention whatsoever that they are dead smack in the middle of a fucking warzone. They are reporting that there are ways the city can condemn nuisance properties through a crafty form of legalized thievery; eminent domain. Only they call it economic development.

AMISH PARADISE?

One of my favorite videos sings about Amish lifestyle with a comedic twist. Sometimes I think we are way too advanced and rely so heavily on technology to solve problems which the technology itself brought about. It makes no sense to me, but neither do things such as cheeseburger pizza or taco salad.

I lived in an Amish community once and they're funnier than hell to watch pick the fields by hand, visit ATM machines with Horse and Buggy, or plow a field with horse and plow. They are some very hard workers though. They have very few instances of crime, drugs, prostitution, and many of the problems we see in a more Industrialized society. This seems it would be paradise, at least compared to Northeast Kansas City. I can say out of all the things I've done in life, I've never dated an Amish woman. Maybe I'll try that?

SPACE STATION SUPPLIES?

A diverse group of space cadets received supplies recently aboard the International Space Station. I won't even go into why the hell this program exists or how it can be a "true" International Space Station without an illegal Hispanic immigrant, Al Qaeda member, or Middle Eastern Terrorist aboard. And just what the hell is a "run-of-the-mill space snack"? Some Missourian claims to have the market on Space Snacks. Probably from Kansas City, too.

Now, I remember when Neal Armstrong first stepped on Moon because I watched it on television. That was back when astronauts were really astronauts. I mean, it seemed like they were sweating bullets and you know its because they were working on their own rockets and shit. This sounds crazy, but it seems so real. I can see them now, wiping off the sweat with their sleeves, hopping into what looked like firesuits in Nascar, and into something looking like it wouldn't make it to L.A. Let's face it, were spoiled. Look at the shit their flying in now. These machines look like they will make it. When these machines don't make it, shit hits the fan. Oh yeah, and don't forget these guys aren't even expected to drop somewhere in the middle of the ocean and swim to safety. It's a jacked up world man. Who needs a fucking space station anyway? This just gives me some small variation from local shit. Besides, if we were meant to fly we would've been gifted with wings. Not just the arrogant notion we can soar like eagles while living like pigs. I'm out.

I was evicted from my site. My friends said I was getting a little to comfy pissing off the wrong people around town. I sent numerous emails concerning a variety of issues to city officials, newspaper reporters, news teams, investigative reporters, and a host of other people acting as if they know something around this town. I did receive a couple of responses, from a couple of low-key individuals in the hierarchy, which I will share as time permits. My friend Tony says I don't really have a blogsite or newsite although I made him laugh a couple of times so I continue to give him kudos whenever I can. I want to be just like him when I grow up except I don't want to be short, fat, and mexican, or have a propensity to break on white people when hispanic jokes would suffice.

Tonight I will introduce you to a worthless news organization who never fails to entertain themselves. I believe they print it so they can read it aloud to each other. First-of-all, they hire convict looking couriers to deliver their weekly publication. Secondly, they throw these newspapers (several on each block) aimlessly towards what appears to be a property. Thirdly, they leave these papers strewn about on every block to be torn apart, kicked, or blown away by winds. Lastly, even if you do pick one of these newspapers up, you won't find a lick of shit a normal person would even give a shit about. In short, please deliver this crap news to someone elses block, preferably someone who has asked you to deliver it. What you are doing amounts to littering and should be stopped.

I am starting this blog in an attempt to bring a great deal of attention to the City of Kansas City as a place worthy of rehabilitation. I am not running for public office, know anyone who is, or support any of the candidates in the upcoming election. I am a 41 year old male who is tired of being force-fed a bunch of crap through local media outlets who routinely sedate its readers through strategically placing irrelevant news in the path of true progress. After living in Kansas City for about two years I have come to notice a few things which are objectionable in my immediate neighborhood and have attempted to bring these issues to the attention of the City of Kansas City, news stations, and a variety of other individuals entrusted with the saftey and welfare of our community. After establishing beyond all doubts that local media is not interested in airing neighborhood issues allowed to escalate through lack of city services, I have decided to start airing these issues personally. After experiencing a great deal of success with our initial site we were closed down for reasons not explained to the newsteam.
